Our trainees have the opportunity to work abroad during the second year of their training contract, or to go on secondment to one of our clients in and around London.
For our international secondments, trainees can choose between working in one of our own offices and going on secondment to one of the market-leading firms we regularly work with. An international secondment is an excellent opportunity to experience working in a different environment and jurisdiction, whilst building a raft of new international contacts. We take care of all the practical arrangements, including flights, accommodation and work permits, and will continue to offer support whilst you are away.
For our client secondments, trainees can join the in-house legal team at a client for the third or fourth seat of their training contract. These are a great opportunity to develop your understanding of how businesses work and what clients are looking for from the law firms they work with – insights that will be invaluable once you return to the firm and progress with your career. We also continue to offer you support whilst you are on client secondment.
After qualification there will be numerous further opportunities to go on secondment either overseas or to clients, as part of your personal and career development. Our overseas associate secondments are especially important to our global relationship firm development and is mirrored by a similar programme where we host an intake of Visiting Lawyers from overseas twice yearly.
