Three years on: a brave new world for competition enforcement

Within three years since the Hong Kong Competition Ordinance (CO) came into full effect on 14 December 2015, the Competition Commission has brought three cartel enforcement proceedings before the Competition Tribunal. These proceedings have covered a range of cartel conduct and sent a clear message that the Commission is ready to take cartelists – both undertakings and individuals concerned - to court.
