Slaughter and May announced as Lead Partner of the Bridge Group
Slaughter and May has today been announced as a Lead Partner of the Bridge Group.
The Bridge Group is an independent research charity promoting socio-economic inclusion through evidence, insight and collaboration. The firm has been appointed alongside KPMG UK and Morgan Stanley to support the charity to further drive evidenced-based change towards socio-economic inclusion.
The Lead Partner appointments reflect the Bridge Group’s ambition to scale its national impact by strengthening cross‑sector collaboration and advancing approaches to socio‑economic inclusion. As a Lead Partner, Slaughter and May will support the Bridge Group’s independent research to address critical policy gaps and help convene organisations across sectors to accelerate collective progress.
Slaughter and May will play a central role in shaping the Bridge Group’s future endeavours through representation on the charity’s newly established Advisory Board, of which Partner Claire Jackson is a member. The Advisory Board aims to share knowledge and best-practice across sectors, and ensure The Bridge Group’s research, evaluation and services continue to improve educational and career outcomes across the UK.
Slaughter and May has worked to widen access to the legal profession for more than a decade. The firm believes that access to the best available talent, drawn from a wide range of backgrounds, is essential to its long‑term success. In 2023, Slaughter and May became the first major law firm to set social mobility targets, supported by a comprehensive action plan, and it has a longstanding commitment to improving representation of individuals from lower socio‑economic backgrounds across its workforce and the legal sector more broadly.
Commenting on the partnership, Claire Jackson, Partner at Slaughter and May, said: “I am delighted to be joining the Bridge Group’s Advisory Board. Our involvement as a Lead Partner builds on Slaughter and May’s long‑term commitment to increasing social mobility, working towards the targets we set in 2023 and widening access to the legal profession. It’s also something I am hugely passionate about personally, and I am looking forward to working with the Bridge Group and fellow Advisory Board members to further advance socio‑economic inclusion.”
Jenny Baskerville, Chief Executive of the Bridge Group, added: “The launch of our Lead Partner programme marks a defining moment for the Bridge Group. In welcoming KPMG UK, Morgan Stanley, and Slaughter and May as our inaugural Lead Partners, we are building a trusted community of cross‑sector employers who share our unwavering commitment to evidence‑led change. Together we can extend the benefits of socio‑economic inclusion further than ever before.”
