Slaughter and May extends global investigations practice with new partner appointment in Hong Kong.

Wynne Mok, a Director of Enforcement at the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission, to join the firm  

Slaughter and May announces the appointment of Wynne Mok as a partner in its Hong Kong office. Wynne is a highly skilled investigations and litigation lawyer whose experience combines law enforcement and private practice.  She will join the firm from the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) where she has been a Director of Enforcement since 2016.  In this role, Wynne has been involved in managing complex litigation, enforcing good governance and shaping regulatory policy.

Wynne will focus in particular on regulatory inquiries and investigations, including multi-jurisdictional investigations undertaken by Slaughter and May’s leading global investigations practice.  As such, Wynne will work closely with Slaughter and May’s London, Beijing and Brussels offices. 

Wynne’s litigation experience will add further strength to the firm’s dispute resolution practice in Asia, which has extensive experience of resolving disputes both in Hong Kong and throughout the Asia Pacific region, including the PRC, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and the Philippines.

The appointment extends and strengthens Slaughter and May’s Hong Kong, regional and global investigations practice. The firm regularly advises clients on major investigations around the world and has played significant roles in many of the most important inquiries and regulatory investigations of the past decade.  Recent examples include acting for British Airways in relation to investigations into an alleged air cargo cartel, Olympus in relation to investigations by regulators in several jurisdictions and Rolls-Royce plc in relation to the criminal investigations into allegations of bribery and corruption.

The addition of Wynne Mok adds direct prosecutorial-side experience of regulatory investigations to the global team.  This is set against the backdrop of increasing collaboration between international regulators, who are seeking to increase standards of law enforcement and good governance on a global basis.
