Three Hong Kong partners appointed
Slaughter and May announces the appointment of three new partners in Hong Kong. Clara Choi and Natalie Yeung, both senior associates in the Hong Kong office, will become partners with effect from 1 March 2014. The firm has also appointed John Moore as a partner and he will join the firm on 10 February 2014.
John Moore is a highly experienced securities lawyer who is admitted to the New York Bar and is also a Hong Kong qualified lawyer. Nearly all of John’s career has been spent in Hong Kong - for a number of years as a senior in-house counsel at Goldman Sachs and then as a partner in private practice at leading international law firms. John also served for a number of years as Deputy Chairman of the Listing Committee of the Main Board and the Growth Enterprise Market of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.
Clara Choi is an experienced M&A and capital markets lawyer who is both Hong Kong and English law qualified. Clara will play an important role in maintaining and developing the Hong Kong office’s investment banking and corporate client relationships both in Hong Kong and the PRC.
Natalie Yeung is a senior competition and regulatory associate who has been based in the Hong Kong office after spending a number of years in the firm’s competition group in London. She is also both Hong Kong and English law qualified. Natalie will lead the Hong Kong office’s competition practice, representing clients in relation to cross-border M&A and the new Hong Kong competition legislation. She will also provide regulatory and competition advice in a number of other areas.
Following these appointments, Slaughter and May Hong Kong will have 12 partners and over 45 legal staff based in Hong Kong and Beijing offering a comprehensive range of legal services to clients in the Asian region.
