Adrian advises in relation to infrastructure, energy and natural resources projects and transactions including offshore wind, nuclear, hydrogen and carbon capture & storage, with 20+ years of experience advising on financing, offtake and structuring for companies, joint ventures and projects in the oil and gas, power and renewables sectors. He worked in Asia for a number of years and has been involved in projects in Asia, Africa, Australia, Europe and the U.S. Adrian is qualified in England and Wales and in Hong Kong.
Highlights
- Advised Ørsted on its divestment of a 50% stake in the Hornsea 3 offshore wind farm to Apollo-managed funds and related funding and power purchase arrangements, involving an investment of $6.5 billion.
- Advised Centrica on its investments in Highview Power relating to a “stability island” which will provide system support to the electricity grid and a liquid air energy storage (LAES) project which will be the first commercial-scale LAES plant in the UK.
- Advised Centrica on its agreement to acquire a 15% equity stake in Sizewell C, a new 3.2GW nuclear power station under construction in Suffolk with committed construction funding of £1.3 billion.
- Advised Kosmos Energy (dual listed NYSE and LSE E&P company) on its financing arrangements, including its reserves-based lending facility and Nordic bond issue.
- Advised National Wealth Fund (formerly UK Infrastructure Bank) in relation to guarantees and loans to support retrofitting social housing, construction of the Havant Thicket Reservoir and the development of battery storage projects in the UK.
- Kellas Midstream on its up to 1GW blue hydrogen project known as H2NorthEast.
