Charles Randell CBE practised corporate finance law at Slaughter and May from 1980 to 2013 and was the Government’s lead external lawyer throughout the global financial crisis. In 2013 he became a founding member of the Bank of England’s Prudential Regulation Authority and from 2018 to 2022 he chaired the Financial Conduct Authority and the Payment Systems Regulator. He has also been a board member at Government departments. He is now a Senior Consultant to Slaughter and May and teaches financial regulation at Queen Mary University of London.
