Kathrine joined Slaughter and May in 1994. She spent her first decade advising on cross-border financing and M&A transactions, based mostly in the London and former Singapore offices of Slaughter and May. Since 2004 she has been a Special Adviser in the financing practice, advising the Firm and its clients on risk management and strategic issues in banking and finance transactions.
Kathrine’s responsibilities include leading the Firm’s advisory work on major legal, regulatory and market developments affecting banking and finance transactions, ranging from LIBOR transition to sustainable finance.
As Head of Treasury Insight, Kathrine has a particular focus on the borrower’s perspective. She advises the Association of Corporate Treasurers on documentation discussions with the Loan Market Association and other policy and technical issues. She writes regularly on banking and related legal topics and is the author of the ACT Borrower’s Guide to LMA Loan Documentation for Investment Grade Borrowers and the ACT Borrower’s Guide to Sustainability-Linked Loan Terms.
Kathrine is also a member of the Firm’s Africa Practice Group. She works with a range of clients across the continent and has spoken extensively on banking topics at LMA and other regional events.
