Susan has a broad financing practice acting for clients across a range of sectors and in a range of jurisdictions covering general bank finance and corporate treasury work, acquisition and leveraged financing, debt capital markets transactions, project financing and restructuring work.

She also has broad experience advising on corporate transactions, with a particular focus on  energy, infrastructure and natural resources work (including the pure projects and project financing aspects), including in the renewables space. Susan is also a member of our ESG team, taking an interest in sustainable and transition related financing arrangements.

Recent highlights include advising:

  • Interserve on its ongoing restructuring and financing arrangements, including various complex refinancings, the development and implementation of its deleveraging plan (which culminated in a pre-packaged administration sale of the business and assets of the group to a newly-incorporated company owned by the group’s existing lenders), the merger of Interserve Support Services with Mitie, the sale of the RMD Kwikform Group, and the separation of its Tilbury Douglas construction division
  • Premier Foods on its general financing and corporate treasury arrangements, including on its entry into a new £175 million revolving credit facility and, previously, on its £1.128 billion capital refinancing plan, including a fully underwritten placing and rights issue, a high yield bond, a new revolving credit facility and revised pension scheme and security arrangements
  • Electrolux on its financing arrangements, including updates to its EMTN programme and related sustainability issues
  • Norsk Hydro ASA on the establishment of its Euro5,000,000,000 EMTN programme (containing optionality to issue green notes and sustainability-linted notes) and on its short-term multicurrency revolving credit facility
  • Alunorte on its sustainability-linked credit facility which supports its fuel switch project in Brazil
  • Kosmos on its ongoing financing arrangements, including its reserves based lending, revolving credit facilities, hedging transactions, and related intercreditor issues (including in connection with its high yield bonds)
  • Ineos group companies on various financing and other commercial and energy transactions
  • Castlelost Flex Gen Limited on its up to Euro 167,050,000 facility for the development of an open cycle gas turbine power plant
  • Wessex Water on the entry into a new £300,000,000 syndicated term loan bridge facility and refinancing of three existing bilateral revolving credit facilities
  • Shepherd Building Group on the financing aspects of the sale of Portakabin to Antin Infrastructure Partners
  • Ørsted on various offshore windfarm projects
  • Centrica on the sale of its 50% interest in Lincs wind farm to UK Green Investment Bank Financial Services managed entities and the UK Green Investment Bank plc
  • YTL Power International on various projects and project financing arrangements
  • Attarat Power Company and the project sponsors, Eesti Energia AS and YTL Power International Berhad on the project financing and development of a 554MW oil shale-fired power station at Attarat um Ghudran, Jordan
