Tim is a Partner in Slaughter and May’s Restructuring and Insolvency group. He advises corporates, lenders, investors and insolvency practitioners in relation to a broad range of restructuring, refinancing and insolvency matters.

Highlights include advising:

  • Pepco Group N.V. on the sale of Poundland Limited to 1903 Peach Bidco Limited (a company established by certain affiliates of Gordon Brothers) and on the pre-arranged Part 26A Companies Act 2006 restructuring plan of Poundland Limited
  • Cineworld, one of the largest cinema chains in the world, on its financial restructuring, including the successful emergence of entities making up its US and UK and Irish businesses from their Chapter 11 cases and the pre-packaged administration of Cineworld Group plc
  • Premier Oil plc on its 2021 debt restructuring discussions, which culminated in Premier’s merger with Chrysaor to create Harbour Energy and was implemented through restructuring plans, and the successful sanction of its contested schemes of arrangement in 2020
  • ASOS plc on its 2024 liability management exercise, involving an exchange and tender offer in respect of its 2026 convertible bonds and the extension of its asset based lending facility
  • Non-Standard Finance on its financial restructuring, involving the sanction of a scheme of arrangement to provide certainty as to the extent of its liability for historical redress liabilities and culminated in the transfer of its operating business to a newly-incorporated group owned by its secured lenders
  • Authentic Brands Group in connection with rescue financing and contingency planning in relation to its position as secured lender to the Ted Baker group
  • Interserve plc, one of the world’s leading support services and construction groups, on the development and implementation of a deleveraging plan designed to reduce the group’s debt by approximately £485 million and provide £110 million of fresh liquidity
  • Virgin Group on the successful restructuring of Virgin Active, an important case in the development of the restructuring plan
  • The sole secured lender in relation to an FCA-regulated consumer credit business which entered administration in 2023
  • A syndicate of secured lenders in relation to a co-living business which entered administration in 2021
