Slaughter and May acted for RSA – the re-tendering of IT infrastructure outsourcing arrangements
Slaughter and May acted for leading global insurance group RSA on the re-tendering of its strategic, long-term and multi-jurisdictional IT infrastructure outsourcing arrangements. Our assistance to our client included renegotiating the existing relationship between RSA and CGI in Canada and replacing RSA’s incumbent suppliers with Wipro in Europe.
RSA group CIO Darren Price told The Register, “This partnership with Wipro will provide RSA with a secure, cost effective and agile infrastructure service upon which we can continue to support our business transformation.” The firm hailed the deal as a “major step forward” in its technology strategy that would allow it to provide “a market-leading, agile, affordable and secure infrastructure platform”.
RSA sought to re-tender its strategic, long-term IT infrastructure outsourcing arrangements in the UK, Scandinavia, Ireland and Canada. Whilst reporting to RSA Group based in London, Slaughter and May worked closely with the local businesses and local law firms in each of those jurisdictions throughout the deal, including Arthur Cox in Ireland, Kromann Reumert in Scandinavia and Blaney McMurty LLP in Canada
