Slaughter and May advised Marsh & McLennan Companies Inc. on the sale of the aerospace business of Jardine Lloyd Thompson Group plc

Slaughter and May advised Marsh & McLennan Companies Inc. (“MMC”) on the sale of the global aerospace insurance broking business of Jardine Lloyd Thompson Group plc (“JLT”) to Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. (“Gallagher”).

On 1 March, as part of the European Commission’s ongoing Phase 1 review of MMC's pending acquisition of JLT, MMC and JLT made commitments to divest JLT's aerospace business. The sale of the aerospace business to Gallagher, including the transfer of its personnel, was announced on 4 March. The sale is subject to European Commission approval.
