Slaughter and May is advising American Tower Corporation, one of the largest global REITs, on its definitive agreement to acquire Eaton Towers Holding Limited (“Eaton Towers”), which owns and operates approximately 5,500 communications sites across five African markets. As a result of the transaction, American Tower also expects to accelerate its new build activity across the region due to expanded relationships with multiple key tenants. The total consideration for the transaction, including the assumption of existing Eaton Towers debt, is approximately $1.85 billion, subject to customary closing adjustments.
Slaughter and May is working as an integrated team with Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton and Garrison LLP (Bruce Gutenplan and David Harris) and supporting Ruth Dowling (General Counsel, LatAm and EMEA) and Amy Alter (General Counsel, EMEA) of American Tower.
