Slaughter and May is advising English National Ballet - relocation to London City Island
Slaughter and May is delighted to have supported English National Ballet by advising it in relation to its plans for a new joint home with English National Ballet School in East London. The move will bring under one roof one of the world’s leading ballet companies with a world renowned ballet school, and will create a centre that combines state-of-the-art training facilities, teaching and rehearsal studios alongside a unique production space unrivalled in the capital.
English National Ballet will relocate to London City Island, a new neighbourhood from Eco World Ballymore, who have committed to delivering the shell and core construction. The development is a short distance from Canning Town and adjoins Trinity Buoy Wharf, which is home to an emerging creative and arts cluster. Occupation is expected to commence in Autumn 2018 following fit out works by English National Ballet.
English National Ballet Executive Director Caroline Thomson said:
"A year ago we set out to look for a new home that would provide the type of facilities one would expect from a world-class company and school. The counsel provided by Slaughter and May has been crucial to our successful search, and we are extremely grateful for their support."
